EADS DCS: Implementing solutions at the highest level of integration
Within the Defence and Security division of EADS, the Defence and Communications Systems (DCS) business unit has selected Microsoft's Enterprise Project Management collaborative project management environment, integrating it with the existing SAP ERP. Goals: to optimise the management of DCS's complex international projects and to improve the visibility of their progress and costs. The Defence and Communications Systems business unit (DCS), reporting to the EADS Defence and Security division, is required to manage increasingly larger-scale projects. Whether it's about implementing a nationwide infrastructure for handling emergency calls or installing an ultra-secure government IT network – to design, develop and implement highly integrated solutions, and interconnect as many freestanding subsystems and platforms as possible within a single network, is the job of the business unit's staff. Located in the various European subsidiaries (UK, France, Germany, Finland, et al.) and on site throughout the world, they work concurrently on these large-scale security projects.
