Requirements/ Objectives

  • Companies track and control projects more and more in a portfolio context
  • In doing so, information on project level gain more and more significance and need to be updated frequently (due to organisational changes, budget revaluations etc.), this mostly occurs at a central unit like the Project Management Office (PMO)
  • CS MPE intends to minimize the time and effort for changing project master data by providing the possibility to edit master data of multiple projects simultaneously in one step instead of editing each project separately

Solution

  • CS MPE collects project master data from Microsoft Project Server and displays it in web-based multi-project views
  • The user selects a suitable view and marks any desired project for editing – selected projects are checked out from the server, the user can edit all available project master data fields bundled in a web-based grid view and save/ publish or discard all changes
  • CS MPE has been developed as a .NET application – all views can seamlessly be integrated as web parts into SharePoint pages such as Project Web Access or CS Project Portal
