Milestone for the Energy Transition: TenneT Germany & Campana & Schott

With the kickoff of ProTON, the program to support onshore grid expansion is launched, delivering services in project management, project planning, and quality management.

The expansion of Germany’s power grid is one of the central pillars for the success of the energy transition. To execute these complex infrastructure projects efficiently and on schedule, the transmission system operator TenneT Germany relies on proven expertise: with the kickoff of the “ProTON” program (Project Management for Onshore Grid Expansion), Campana & Schott takes on a key role in supporting the grid expansion. The collaboration is designed for the long term and is set to run until at least the end of 2030.

ProTON: Unified management for complex infrastructure projects

Infrastructure projects in particular present project teams with significant challenges: strict regulatory requirements, complex approval processes, and a wide range of stakeholders demand a high level of transparency and quality standards. The delivery model supported by Campana & Schott provides the necessary foundation by ensuring consistent governance, planning, and quality standards.

The role of Campana & Schott in the project

As part of ProTON, Campana & Schott is responsible for services in the onshore regions North and Northeast as well as in TenneT Germany’s central Project Management Office (PMO). Our consultants take on key roles, including:

  • project management
  • project planning
  • quality management
  • support for contract execution

Industry expertise as a success factor

In addition to strong methodological expertise in project and program management, the key factors in the award of the contract were Campana & Schott’s deep domain expertise and strong cultural fit. For more than a decade, our teams have been supporting TenneT Germany in strategic initiatives.

Partnership built on experience

The collaboration between TenneT Germany and Campana & Schott has continuously evolved over the years. A relationship built on trust and partnership at eye level—characterized by reliability, openness, and mutual respect—forms the foundation. With ProTON, this partnership is continued within a central, strategically important program.

Outlook

Following the successful kickoff, the program now moves into the operational phase. With a shared focus on reliability and innovation, TenneT Germany and Campana & Schott are making a significant contribution to supply security and the successful implementation of the energy transition in Germany.
