About the Future IT Report

The Future IT Report examines strategic, organisational, process-related and cultural changes in companies due to the digital transformation.

292 executives from large and medium-sized companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland participated in the survey across a broad spectrum of industries.

The study was published by the University of Duisburg-Essen in cooperation with Campana & Schott.

COVID-19 and the increasing focus on sustainability have had a noticeable effect on the role of IT organizations in companies. While many are making steady progress when it comes to digitization, they are still at the beginning of a much more long-term transformation. IT will become a central enabler for sustainable management.

Sustainability goals are already anchored in many companies and IT usually has its own sustainability goals. In the digital transformation, however, there is still often a lack of joint consideration of transformation and sustainability goals, although in my opinion this is where the great potential lies. Awareness still needs to be created in IT here.
