On 24 January, Microsoft introduced its Deutschland Cloud in Berlin. It will be made available in Germany via data centers and will be managed through a national data trustee. In this way, customers can rest assured that data processing takes place in Germany in accordance with the German data protection legislation. Therefore users now have the option of having services such as Office 365 hosted exclusively in German data centers.
As a close partner and expert for business applications, Dr. Eric Schott, CEO of Campana & Schott, outlined the new options in conjunction with Microsoft. He expects that Microsoft Cloud Deutschland could provide added stimulus to the issue of Cloud Computing in Germany.
“Many of our medium-sized customers have so far purposely decided against the benefits of Cloud-based solutions in view of their internal compliance requirements”, says Dr. Eric Schott. “Microsoft Cloud Deutschland now provides them with an attractive way of using Cloud services quickly, easily and in compliance with the existing requirements. Particularly the availability of Office 365 Deutschland will become a trend-setting step towards the digital transformation for many companies.”
