What is new in SharePoint 2016?
| || |
Clear commitment to SharePoint On-Premise
Better performance and stability
Improved user experience
Investments in data security and compliance
The handling and analysis of stored data forms another focus area of the new SharePoint version.
New Data Loss Prevention functions improve data security. Now it is possible to search for sensitive information in documents, set up automated notification functions for these, and prevent the unauthorized sharing of such documents.
New functions make it possible to encrypt documents in OneDrive for Business, attach specific rights and block certain actions, such as printing documents.
The new version supports new encryption protocols for data connections (TLS 1.2); in addition, the delivery of e-mails using STARTTLS encrypted connections and the newly-supported ReFS file system provide more data security when sending and storing data.
