What is the COPD Assistant?
Imagine the following scenario: We are in the emergency room of a hospital. A person is admitted with a severe cough. The medical staff on duty conducts various examinations. The diagnosis: COPD. A shock. A treatment plan, including medication, is developed as quickly as possible.
Now, wouldn't we all want this plan to be the best possible one? One that offers the greatest chances of healing or alleviation? Alarmingly, studies have shown that only around 50% of patients are treated according to guidelines.
Why is this project special?
Together with and for a client, we have developed an AI application that addresses this issue: the "COPD Assistant." This tool supports physicians in adapting treatment plans to the latest standards.
