Transgourmet introduces new company portal

Transgourmet recently started a new company portal for approximately 10,000 employees in Germany, Poland, Romania and Russia. As part of a first step, the pick-up and delivery wholesaler will provide its employees (and customers and suppliers in the long term) with a modern digital workplace based on SharePoint 2019. It is now easier for employees to use apps for their daily work processes as well as collaboration and publishing tools. Management and technology consulting firm Campana & Schott supported these projects with extensive consulting, analytical, planning and implementation services.

In total, approximately six business apps are migrated to SharePoint. At this time, the most important applications (e.g. product recalls, merchandise management or product specifications) are already running on the new company platform. Now, employees can access a central interface within the company network at any time and with any device. The applications come with high availability and high performance. This saves time and increases efficiency, since work orders can be processed more quickly and more reliably. In the future, Transgourmet's employees and customers will also benefit from new, faster and more flexible services and functions with the help of Microsoft 365 and Azure as a Cloud-based infrastructure and development platform.

Together with Campana & Schott, the company has set up an extensive program to enable the use of the new services from Microsoft 365 and Cloud infrastructure services (to manage peak periods, for example).

The first step consisted of the company portal going live on the premises, but that is only the beginning. “Now we will gradually work on the Cloud program to ensure Cloud readiness, compliance, governance and (finally) the provision of all services. The objective is to ensure that the integration of the subsidiaries can be implemented more rapidly.”
